Message from Ed Proctor, Dean of Business and Technology: "I have been involved with a number of programs over the years intended to stimulate young people’s interest in science and engineering careers. In my experience, none more thoroughly engage students in creative problem solving or delivers more “bang for the buck” than BEST Robotics. I or any of the Northark BEST Hub staff (Joe Doster, Roger Hall, John Levy, Barry Charter, Craig Cates, Steve Crabb, Becky Clary, Emily Little, Billie Reed) will be happy to share details of the program or you can check out the national BEST website, www.bestinc.org . We established the Northark BEST Hub in 2006 with a grant from the Arkansas Science and Technology Authority. All of our grant funds have been expended and we are operating this year on donations from local businesses, individuals, and the Northark Foundation. I have attached a generic fund raising letter which we mailed to local businesses earlier this year that outlines the cost of offering this program to local high schools each year. An account has been set up within the Northark Foundation ( BEST Robotics) to which you can dedicate all or part of your Foundation donation if you are so inclined. Thank you for your support!"
