Student Government
Welcome to the Northark Student Government Association Website!
What is the Student Government Association?
The Student Government Association is a representative body of all students on campus at North Arkansas College. We were established to ensure positive representation of student ideals, to participate in the process of formation and execution of college policy, and to establish a bond between ourselves, the faculty, and our administration.
As defined by our Constitution, our purpose is:
- To work in service to the students and administration toward the common goal of student retention and encourage student interaction.
- To foster communication between the students, faculty, staff, and administration.
- To provide an official voice through which student opinions may be expressed to the faculty and administration.
- To promote the general welfare of the college.
-To give students an opportunity to be decision makers within the context of student/college interaction.
How does the Student Government Association Work?
The Student Government Association (SGA) is one body of dedicated students who work together through meetings and committees to better serve the college. The five officers work with the other Student Government members to work on college action projects, campus activities, and service projects for the benefit of all students at North Arkansas College. Committees may be formed within SGA for students to focus more effectively on projects and service. The committee work is then presented to the entire SGA for final approval and action.
When do you meet and how can I join the Student Government Association?
Our meetings are held on Thursdays from 12:30pm to 1:30pm in the Bennie Ellis Room (B304). Everyone is welcome to join in a meeting. Committee meetings are held dependent on the members of the group.
