What We Are...
The
Northark
Technical
Center (
NTC) is an area secondary center based on Northark's North Campus. The Center was formed in 2000 through a collaborative effort by Northark, area school districts, and the
Department of Workforce Education. NTC provides area high school juniors and seniors with the unique opportunity to earn college credit while still in high school. The student's curriculum provides students with hands-on training in several technical fields.

Who We Serve...
The Center serves area high schools in a seven county area of North Central Arkansas.

Services are provided at NO COST to the students. Books, tuition and fees are all provided through NTC and funded by a training fee paid by local school districts and by funds provided through the state Department of Workforce Education.
What We Do...
We aid students in making an informed career choice.
Students select a technical program based on their interests and aptitudes. Their experiences in the program they choose help them to make future career choices.
We prepare students to enter the workforce upon high school graduation.
The programs provided by NTC lead to a professional certification, a certificate of proficiency, or a technical certificate from Northark.
We encourage students to continue their education after high school.
NTC classes are credited for the student at both the high school and college level. Students can finish their NTC programs with as many as 30 college hours toward a higher degree or certification, and they are more capable of handing college coursework.
Programs available to high school students at the Northark Technical Center include:
Automotive Service Technology
The Automotive Service Technology (AST) program prepares high school students for entry-level positions as Automotive Service Technicians. All courses taken through the Northark Technical Center may be applied toward a Technical Certificate or an Associate of Applied Science Degree.
Collision Repair Technology
The Collision Repair Technology (CRT) program prepares high school students for entry-level positions in the Collision Repair industry. All courses taken through the Northark Technical Center may be applied towards a Technical Certificate or an Associate of Applied Science Degree.
Construction Technology/Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning
The Construction Technology/Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) program prepares the student for entry-level positions in the construction industry. All courses taken through the Northark Technical Center may be applied toward a Technical Certificate or an Associate of Applied Science Degree.
Cosmetology
Northark Technical Center in partnership with The Lighthouse Career Academy offers high school students the opportunity to begin coursework toward state licensure in Cosmetology.
Engineering Technology
The Engineering Technology program prepares students for careers in engineering technology, manufacturing, and biomedical equipment repair.
Information Technology
The Information Technology (IT) program prepares students for careers in Geospatial Information Systems, Network Administration, and Digital Media:
The Geospatial Information Systems (GIS)/Computer Aided Design (CAD) option prepares students to use geographic databases, Global Positioning System (GPS) receivers, and remote sensing information from satellites and aircraft to create products that display geographic information clearly and concisely. The program emphasizes applying this new technology to solve problems and create opportunities in a broad range of fields including resource management, economic development, marketing, planning and zoning, and law enforcement. All courses taken through the Northark Technical Center may be applied towards a Technical Certificate or an Associate of Applied Science Degree.
The Network Administration option prepares high school students to operate today’s computer hardware, communication networks, and operating system software. Several courses in the program utilize the Cisco Networking Academy Curriculum that prepares students for the Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA) Certification Exam. All courses taken through the Northark Technical Center may be applied towards a Technical Certificate or an Associate of Applied Science Degree.
The Digital Media option prepares high school for careers in digital media, including print, web, and video formats. The program combines strong technical preparation in current graphical software applications with courses that enhance the student’s creative talents. All courses taken through the Northark Technical Center may be applied towards a Technical Certificate or an Associate of Applied Science Degree.
Medical Professions Education
The Medical Professions Education program prepares high school students for careers in health care professions, including entry level jobs as Phlebotomy Technicians and EMTs. All courses taken through the Northark Technical Center may be applied toward a Certificate or an Associate of Applied Science Degree.
Welding
The Welding Technology (WLD) program provides high school students training to develop welding skills. All courses taken through the Northark Technical Center may be applied towards a Technical Certificate or an Associate of Applied Science Degree.
