North Arkansas College offers college preparatory classes to help students succeed in college.
A variety of college prep classes are offered in math, algebra, vocabulary, grammar, composition, reading, and college success skills.
Learning Assistance Center
The Learning Assistance Center is a supplemental
classroom resource and provides valuable services to students and faculty
including:
College Preparatory Lab
The College Preparatory Lab offers individualized
instruction in skill areas essential to college-level success. A variety of
courses from one to three credit hours are offered in the lab. The main courses
offered every semester are Grammar, Fundamentals of Composition Lab, College
Reading Techniques Lab, and Math Lab.
The lab is generally open to all Northark students
Monday through Friday. The exact hours the lab will be open are announced at
the beginning of each semester. The College Preparatory Lab is located on the

The LAC Computer Center
The LAC has computer software available to
students who want to supplement what they are learning in their math, science,
or English classes. The Learning Lab has twenty-four laptop computers which
students can schedule to use. The LAC Computer Center is located on the South
Campus in room M154. The hours of availability of these laptops will be posted
at the beginning of each semester.
Math Tutoring
Located in room M148, math tutoring is a free
service provided for students experiencing difficulties in math courses from
Basic Math to College Algebra. Hours of operation are announced at the beginning
of each semester.
Writing Center
The Writing Center, located in room M154, is a
comfortable place to write and to talk about writing. This resource provides a
full-time writing tutor, computers for student use, and helpful writing
resources. In the Writing Center, a student can get help with any stage of the
writing process, from pre-writing to drafting and revising. Hours are Monday
through Friday
8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
