2009 Northark Baseball

         Phil Wilson begins his 18th year as Head Baseball Coach at North Arkansas College.  A native of northern Illinois, Wilson received a baseball scholarship to Kansas State University.  After earning his BS and MS at Kansas State, he became the Head Baseball Coach there as well as Assistant Athletic Director.  In the late 70s he was named Athletic Director at Fort Hays State University where his teams had great success at the national level.
          Wilson has accumulated a 682 – 451 record in 24 years of coaching and his Northark teams have won the last five regional tournaments in a row and have been ranked number 1 or 2 in team hitting the last six years nationally among junior colleges.  Coach Wilson’s record at Northark is 509 – 341. Northark was #1 in the nation in last year’s final national baseball poll.
        The Northark Pioneers have had twelve young men sign professionally and ten young men named as All-American players during Coach Wilson’s tenure.
          Phil and his wife, Monique, have two sons, Baker-11, Gibson-8, and one daughter, Mainnie-5.  They also have four grandchildren.
